Tuesday - Finishing off

Eleven of us in on a very wet day.

Much of the concentration was on the DMU as we finished off all we could do before it goes out on Thursday next. In particular all the windows were checked again for paint marks and given another thorough clean.

Richard (and John) finished off the floor cleaning. It was hard work on hands and knees, but as explained in last Thursday's report, the difference was considerable.

The route indicator box in the cab was not removed. As such the flaky paintwork

Bob tidied up the paintwork on the roof of BSK 34929 after the gutter had been replaced on Saturday.

Out to the Barn with Alan, John and Maurice sanding the Cotswold side and northwest corner of CK 16221.

It was nice to see Kevin back after a spell in hospital, and sorting out the various boxes of screws and bolts that gradually accumulate around the Works.
And the rain got heavier and heavier.

With an occasional easing off as the afternoon wore on. "Foremarke Hall" pulls away with the final northbound steam-hauled train for the day.
