A busy day with around 30 volunteers present. We are on the final push to complete 2 carriages, 4986 and 21092, but its amazing how many little finishing jobs seem to materialise.
The final length of pipework for tank filling on 21092 was sized up and coupled up it just needs tightening ang painting. We don't know when the original pipes were removed. It was at least 5 years ago as we have a photo from that time that clearly shown it without the pipes then.
a new bottom bracket was also positioned and welded in place.
Steve continued with the toilet compartment fitting on 4986 The Malvern side is complete and the Cotswold side nearly so.
New threshold bars for 3 of the doorways have also been prepared and are now in the process of being fitted.
The north end of 4986 gets a final coat of paint.
and a lot of the new skirting boards have also now been painted.
finishing off underneath is also in progress.
FO 3132 'Mary' was shunted in and lifted for the bogie with a flat to be extracted ready for sending away for wheel turning. This is the first of several quick in and out shunts now we are in the operational closed season and thus our busy season.
Derek is making great progress with the trolleys. Here finishing off one of the corner plates.
The arched roof frames form the LNWR (yes I got the wrong region in last weeks blog)
No this isn't the hitching rail to go outside the Broadway café! John completed and fitted the coupling hook hangers. The rail will be fitted in the end of the barn to keep all the spare coupling tidy.
