The major focus was again on the GUV as we want to complete this asap with so many other things waiting in the wings. At the north end Richard covered the cleaned up metal with red oxide and then gave the whole area a coat of black gloss.
Continuing the good work to restore the gutter sections, Bob drills the necessary holes along the roof-bodyside divide on the Cotswold side
Dennis prepares the strips with sealant.
Bob then rivets each strip back in place. Later on these were painted by Richard.
At the south end Adrian is repeating the work being done at the north end. In the background Bob is continuing the riveting of the gutter strips.
A lot of progress was made on the roof with almost all the scraping off of loose cracking paint completed and the etch primer going on.
Derek continues the cleaning up of the metal roof hoops on the Fruit C van .
At the end of the day with all the hoops cleaned and coated in oxide.
Keith and I began the day with more preparation on the Malvern side of TSO 4986. After a lot of sanding and filling, Keith opted for a quieter afternoon at the Paintshop trestles with a number of items being progressed. The new battery box from 4986 was being primed.
With no Upholstery work waiting for her, Vivien reverted to her FOWS role and did some gardening up at the station.
We are making the most of our visiting locos with the King being retained for an extra week.
