Saturday - End Game

A quieter day than usual with only 16 in attendance but still with a lot to get on with. I was busy getting the capping strip fitted, well almost, to door 6 of 4986 and rather neglected picture taking.

The pictures I did get, which reflect where most of the effort was applied, very much focus on the ends of carriages.

Ken spent much of the day making the gangway at the north end of 21092 ready for removal and then removing it. A replacement has already been prepared.

James was assisting John Squires with the pipework on the top of 4986. They completed that by the end of the day.

It included the long down pipe for the emergency vacuum brake connection.

Dennis Richards prepared a list of required equipment for the guards area in 21092. As this is a new carriage to us we need to gather a complete set together. Andy and Ian made a start sorting out a 'spare/emergancy' coupling.

Dave Hancox continued the ceiling clean up in 4867.

I spent much of the day back on door liners and capping strips and never thought to actually take a picture of what I had been doing. Maybe next time!

I great job guys. You certainly have your hands full at the present time. You will be glad of a Christmas break.

It seems a shame that the high finish given to the stock can be ruined by the weather. Any more news on a carriage shed any time soon, as the Boardroom blog seems to have ground to a standstill?
Regards, Paul.

Things are a foot but its not something that can be rushed as it affect everyone, not just C&W. The proposal has to inter leave with other things happening around the railway and it is only one step in a bigger process. Sorry PATIENTS is needed!

Christmas BREAK! What are you thinking! This is the non running season when C&W has to get all the main rake issues sorted. Its double time and we are not talking pay! Its the perfect escape from all the old TV repeats and left over turkey.
