A tribute to Maurice Norman

Just over two weeks ago Peter received a phone call from Christine Norman to say that Maurice had passed away. He had been unwell for some time having suffered a stroke in 2016 which prevented any further attendances at C&W. Maurice had been with us since 1998 and regularly attended on Wednesdays. He was also a favourite with the group who run our WW2 Evacuation Experience Days for school parties, having himself been an evacuee.

Maurice had actually been on the Railway since the early days and at one time had been a Guard.

A thanksgiving service was held on Wednesday 28th March at St Barbara's Church, Ashton-under-Hill. It was attended by Craig and myself from C&W, and David Brown and John Mayall from the Evacuation Experince group.

He is much missed.
